Special Features
Set off the road in a rural outlook. A lovely Oamaru stone building with a large vegetable garden and beautiful flower garden. Family owned and run. Ace NZQA training program for staff in resthome and dementia care.
Kimberley has an integrated special care unit for residents with dementia or wandering behaviour where thay can be safe and secure but continue to have the opportunity to integrate with those residing in the rest home facility.
Kimberley Rest Home is small enough to have a sense of being in a family setting and professional enough to meet everyones needs.

Details re Meals Out kitchen is right beside the main lounge so cooking smells waft to the residents throughout the day. Residents can also see their meals and food being prepared and cooked, and also have direct access to the our dedicated cooks. Morning tea is a fresh baked savory or sweet item. Lunch is a main meal of meat and vegetables followed by a sweet Afternoon tea is sandwiches (fresh made) or home baking. Tea is a soup and a light meal, with fresh fruit available Supper for anyone who wishes to partake is sandwiches or plain biscuits with a milky drink. We have our own large vegetable garden so residents often help with cutting beans or other vegetables to prepare them to be cooked or frozen for later use.
Staffing Details We are staffed 24 hours a day by staff who are committed to updating their skills. All caregivers have, or are working towards an Age Care qualification for working with the elderly and those with dementia. The Rest Home is family owned and operated and if management are not at the home they are always available on call 24 hours a day. We have qualified cooks preparing home baking and cooked meals. The Activity Officer co-ordinates the Activity programme with 7 nday a week activities. We have a Gardener to tend to our lovely large gardens.
