Interests & Activities

Activity programme - Daily programme organised by our Diversional Therapists including art, music, games, outings, craft, exercise and entertainment. Weekly programme in our Social Centre also open to the wider community - transport provided.

Bowls - We have a raised indoor bowling facility that is very popular.

Cards - Card groups meet regularly in our Social Centre or Herb Murray Room.

Chapel - A serene purpose-built chapel for inter-denominational services widely used for worship and local funerals. This asset was kindly donated by a former resident.

Exercises - Low impact exercise classes every Monday in the Social Centre; Tai Chi as part of the ACC sponsored national Fall Prevention Programme.

Happy Hour - every Friday afternoon in the TCU lounge.

Outings - our bus takes Residents on weekly outings to Paihia and other beautiful Bay of Islands locations.

Stroke Group - meets fortnightly.

Details re Meals The meals are designed to provide the Residents with an interesting nutritionally balanced diet, which has the written approval of a Registered Dietitian. Local Meals on Wheels are prepared in our kitchen.
Staffing Details Currently we have a staffing level of 75 people providing the services required by our Residents, including: Registered Nurses, Caregivers, Diversional Therapists, Physiotherapist, Household staff, Chaplain, Gardening and Maintenance crew and Administration team.
Associated Complexes Associated with the Rest Home are the following: Total Care Unit (Hospital), Dementia Care unit, Hospice, Social Centre, Chapel, Wendywood Studio Apartments and Cottages.
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include The base fee payable by the resident is $762.79 per week. There is an additional charge of $1.00 per day to cover personal toiletries and podiatry. Subsidised Residents must be assessed by the needs assessment service.
