INTRODUCING A NEW SERVICE FOR THE ELDERLY
Home Comfort provides an established service specifically to support the elderly who wish to remain in their own homes. To that end, we will perform any non-medical service which our elderly clients require to enable them to continue to enjoy the comfort of their own homes. We believe that the elderly have a right to choose where they live, and that when that choice is to remain at home, our duty is to help them achieve that level of independence. We cover Wellington, Lower Hutt, Palmerston North, Hamilton, Christchurch and the rural satellite towns in the Horowhenua, Waikato and Canterbury are included When a client is interested in our services, the first step is an interview with them and any interested family members to establish the scope of their needs and work out the best way of meeting these. As the elderly have such a diverse range of needs and frailties which need to be addressed, it is hard to be more specific about what we can offer, as we start from the premise that the individual Client dictates the service they require. At Home Comfort, the work we do is varied and directed at supporting the client in their individual needs, be it making a cup of tea, housework or personal care. One client may need meals prepared, another will need full time supervision and care, whilst another just wants us to take their pet to the vet. A number of widowed ladies need assistance with balancing bank statements and writing cheques, jobs which they never did whilst their husbands were alive. One lady had been a keen follower of the arts all her life, but no longer had the confidence to go out alone by herself at night. Home Comfort could arrange someone to take her to the theatre and bring her home safely. We consult closely with the client and their family to find the best assistance we can give on an individual basis. All such consultations are free and confidential. Following consultation a care-plan is deceloped. We try to match the care giver to the client’s personality to ensure the best possible outcome for the client. If you are referrred to us as a client of a DHB or ACC, then they will cover your costs with us. Otherwise, our prices are based on an hourly rate. However there are some situations, e.g. Sleepovers, where we would negotiate a lesser amount or a fixed fee with the client. |

| Home Comfort was established because we believe that you and your family deserve better. The elderly and disabled need services to enable them to live independently at home, for a longer period of time.
Home Comfort is designed to provide a solution for the elderly and disabled who prefer to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Their quality of life is enhanced without the stress and hardships of a shift to residential care with interrupted routines and daily habits. Our services are designed for people who are capable of handling some of their own physical needs but who may require some assistance with the daily tasks of living to enable them to retain their independence and remain in their own homes. Home Comfort provides such services as meal preparation, companionship, housekeeping, personal care, medication reminders, errands and transportation The Home Comfort organization is establishing an outstanding reputation for quality, especially of our caregivers. We choose kind, caring and personable individuals who want to provide non medical, in-house care to the elderly. Home Comfort consults closely with the client and their family to find the best assistance on an individual basis. All consultations are free and confidential. Following consultation, Home Comfort will try to match the care giver to the client’s personality and needs to ensure the best possible outcome for the client. We want all our clients to feel completely secure and safe with our caregivers, so we carefully screen all our staff. This includes background checks, driving records and police checks. |
