Enrolled Nurse 37.75 Yes Brenda is a senior enrolled nurse who works weekdays with Lynda the charge nurse.
Nurse Assistant 225 Yes Our caregivers work with residents to assist with all the activities of daily living where help is needed.
Physiotherapist 10 Yes A registered physiotherapist and physio aids are available to carry out programs as required to maintain mobility and flexibility.

Activities Co-ordinator 30 Yes Sue works closely with our residents on a variety of activities both on and off site such as games,music,church, art and woodwork. Occasional visits are arranged to cafes, beaches or parks for residents who may enjoy these.

Pets In Residence Yes Sylvester is the Bob Reed cat - a sleek black boy. Chooks scratch in the garden area and lay eggs occasionally. A fish tank is a point of interest.

Policy for management of challenging behaviour Yes The senior medical staff work to balance the needs of the individual with the community of residents and staff. Appropriate intervention will be used in consultation with family.
Confused Residents Yes All residents have been assessed as requiring Stage III care. They are mostly mobile and capable of at least limited activity.
Lounges/seating areas Yes There is a large warm and airy dayroom in the centre of the unit, where there is a TV and stereo available. Visiting entertainers perform in this area too. Most afternoons the residents are relaxing in their lazyboy chairs with a shandy or two.
Outings Yes Regular local outings for visits to beaches or parks, when the weather is good, are arranged. Those residents who are able are also taken swimming to a local heated pool in the summer.
Rural Setting No The unit has a secure garden area around it, which is accessed from the dayroom. There is also a BBQ area, where the residents enjoy fortnightly sausage sizzles in the summer months.
Smokers Room Yes There is a games room and bar, where smoking is allowed.
Smoking Permitted Yes Smokers can use the smoking room or the secure garden area.
Semi-Secure Yes The unit is secure with entrances electronically and remotely controlled.
Sprinklers Yes We have extensive fire protection systems which are regularly maintained and monitored.
