Health and Disability Support Groups and Contacts Yes Community Liaison Officers work in the community to support people with confusion, memory loss &/or dementia, their spouses, care-partners, and/or whanau at all stages of the disease from pre-diagnosis onwards.
Community Organisations Yes Perform assessment visits, ongoing support; crisis intervention, advocacy/liaison with other agencies, support groups, dementia specific day programme, develop professional links/information and education
Relationship and Counselling Services No The level of our support and freqency of visits is governed entirely by the need and desire of the client(s) -home visits, information, education and referrals as appropriate. Support groups for carers and adult children of people with dementia
Fitness and Recreation Yes falls prevention and seated exercises as appropriate as part of the day programme. The emphasis is on having fun in a stimulating and non-threatening environment. Picnics and other outings occur as often as can be arranged - weather permitting.

Day Care (Dementia Care) Yes Yes No Options Hawkes Bay subsidy applies for folk living in the community. Subsidy does not apply for those in residential care - private paying arrangements can be made dependent upon vacancies - our priority is to suport those living at home.
Lunch Yes Yes No Two course meal is provided at no extra charge. Picnic lunches provided on day outings. Fish and chip lunches are a popular alternative, especially when served 'in the packet', just like old times!
Visiting Service Yes No No YES, health professionals visit folk in their homes. This is a free service which provides education, support, advice and helps people to find their way through beaurocracy, making sure that access to in home support services is available when required.
Activities/Exercise Programme Yes Yes No As part of our dementia specific day programme activities - there is no extra charge for this
Other Social Support Yes No No We provide home visiting and support groups. Support groups offer information as well as the peer support so vital in helping carers to cope - knowing you're not alone and getting tips from others with similar experiences can be so helpful.
